How often should I get a checkup?
Most adults benefit from a checkup and clean every 6 months. If you have gum disease or a history of decay, we may recommend every 3–4 months.
Does a scale and polish hurt?
It is generally painless. Some patients with sensitive gums feel mild discomfort — let us know and we will adjust our technique or use a topical anaesthetic.
Do I need X-rays at every visit?
Not necessarily. We only take X-rays when clinically indicated — typically every 12–24 months or when investigating a specific concern. Our digital X-rays use 90% less radiation than traditional film.
